Washington Firefighters Rescue Woman from Burning Home

Firefighters rescued a woman who was trapped inside her burning home late in Lake Stevens (WA), reports KOMO News.

Crews responded to the scene, a home in the 2200 block of 120th Avenue NE, at about 11 p.m. after receiving a 911 call.

The first firefighters to arrive found the 62-year-old woman trapped in her bedroom. They smashed out the window and pulled her to safety.

As crews extinguished the fire, the woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. She told firefighters that she had been sleeping and was awakened by her fire alarm. But she couldn’t make her way out of the house due to the thick smoke.
