SC Firefighters, Hazmat Crews Secure Ammonia Leak

Columbia (SC) – Columbia firefighters and hazmat crews responded to a gas leak at the Tyson processing plant on Bluff Road early Friday morning.

Brick Lewis, a Columbia Fire Department spokesman, said firefighters responded to the 1900 block of Bluff Road after receiving reports of a potential ammonia leak inside the building. When crews entered the building, they detected an ammonia leak coming from a container inside of the building.
