On October 15, rescue crews in Florida were called to the scene of a vehicle accident-a reported 18-wheel tractor-trailer was sinking in a swamp. Witnesses said that the driver of the truck lost control of the rig on a sharp curve. Rescuers tried to give the driver a snorkel to use if she became submerged in the swamp, but they failed. During the rescue operation, the cab of the truck continued to sink into the swamp, ultimately killing the driver.
