On May 29, 2021, O’Fallon (MO) firefighters and St. Charles County paramedics responded to a wrong-way motor vehicle accident in which one driver was killed and two others were injured.

A report from FOX 2 News indicated the incident began Saturday evening around 7:30 p.m. with police receiving a call for somebody fleeing the scene of an accident on eastbound Highway 364.

The report said that a 2017 Kia Sportage had left the area traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the highway. That vehicle subsequently collided with a 2018 Ford Expedition. The Sportage then struck a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta before overturning and landing on its roof; the driver died at the scene.

The report said the Expedition went off the left side of the interstate and smashed into the median, with the driver suffering serious injuries. The Jetta was knocked off of the roadway.
