Firefighters and rescue crews rescued one man in his 20s and assisted the patient down the hill at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. As they were helping the man down the mountain, firefighters learned of a woman in her 30s who was about three-quarters of the way up the trail who needed help, said Capt. Ruben Saavedra, a Phoenix Fire Department spokesman.

Saavedra said the woman complained of a lower extremity injury and heat exhaustion.

Phoenix fire and police technical rescue crews used a helicopter to pull her off the mountain.
