On Wednesday night, while severe storms battered the Metro D.C. region, Montgomery County (MD) Fire & Rescue (MCFRS) battled a house fire in the Burnt Mills neighborhood of Silver Spring, Maryland.

First-arriving firefighters encountered smoke and fire coming from vehicles in the garage of the house. The fire escalated quickly extending up into the house and eventually through the attic and roof.

MCFRS used aerial ladder pipe operations to knock the heavy fire coming from the attic. Once the fire was under control, firefighters used a winch to extract the burned vehicles from the garage and douse hot spots.
