Taunton (MA) firefighters rescued a woman from a mobile home fire in the early hours on Monday, according to a report.
The Taunton Daily Gazette reported that Taunton Fire Department Lt. Greg Galligan spoke of how Capt. Matt Arruda and Pvt. Joseph Santos made a daring effort to save the life of a woman who confined to her bed and trapped in her bedroom during the rapidly growing fire.
Arruda and Santos charged deep into the back of the 60-foot burning structure without a hoseline to make the rescue, the report said. Galligan and firefighters Ryan Bell and John Monteiro followed with a charged line and helped complete the rescue.
The fire victim was transported to a hospital in Boston and was treated for smoke inhalation, according to the report.
Taunton fire Pvt. Brian Silveira reportedly saved a pet dog that was found shivering in the corner of the mobile home.
