No Injuries in Long Island Plane Crash

A small, single engine plane fell from the sky onto a quiet Valley Stream (NY) street on Sunday evening, April 14.

Valley Stream fire department units received the call around 10:15 p.m. for a plane which may have run out of fuel while searching to land in heavy fog.

The plane came down on Calderon Drive and nosed into the ground, but luckily was held up by a maze of power lines.

The three occupants of the aircraft miraculously escaped serious injury and were able to self-evacuate.

There was no fire and the nearby home was not struck, although reports said the plane may have clipped a nearby church on its descent.

Numerous fire department, police, and state agencies responded to the incident.
