The Holmatro Rescue Experience is coming to America’s Heartland in 2015: 2 days in Brentwood/Nashville (September 25th & 26th) and 2 days in St. Louis (October 1st & 2nd). All of these one-day Rescue Experiences provide hands-on training and presentations to local first responders. They will have the opportunity to practice their extrication skills on modern vehicles and listen to guest speakers from the Holmatro Safety Team.
Multiple rescue scenarios
Each training day consists of two morning classroom sessions followed by a rotation through four separate hands-on scenarios:
- Car on its side with difficult access
- Car vs. semi rear side under run
- Car on roof with crush
- Crush Injury Syndrome
The class will be split into four smaller groups to allow everyone hands-on use of the rescue tools as they go through each scenario.
Special guest speakers: Holmatro Safety Team
Using their expertise, the Holmatro Safety Team will instruct first responders in Brentwood and St. Louis. Dr. Michael Olinger and Dr. Andrew Stevens will discuss medical trauma response and will provide instruction on extrication from vehicles with complicated safety features that may make extrication hazardous to first responders. Dr. Michael Olinger will be present in Brentwood. He has been a member of the Holmatro Safety Team since INDYCAR’s inception as on-track physician. Dr. Andrew Stevens is medical director of the Road to Indy Racing Series and is the Holmatro Safety Team physician. He will share his knowledge during the Rescue Experience in St. Louis.
