Haz-Mat Program
The California state fire marshal is offering a statewide program to train first-responders, supervisors and incident commanders in handling hazardous materials emergencies.
This three-year haz-mat project is part of a $6.5 million plan in which the state fire marshal will implement a series of programs to train 75,000 fire service, law enforcement, public works and other emergency response personnel.
The course content was developed by an advisory committee that included members from the California Fire Service, the Office of Emergency Services and the State Fire Marshal’s Fire Service Training and Education Program.
