On February 22, 2010, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Ocala, Florida, resulting in life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred in the 2600 block of Southwest 19 Avenue Road. Ocala (FL) Fire-Rescue firefighters responded at 8:38 p.m. and arrived on scene less than three minutes later. They requested a helicopter, but it was unable to fly because of the weather. The patient was taken by ambulance to Shands hospital, located in Gainesville, Florida.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
