E-ONE has been awarded a multiyear contract from the Department of National Defense (DND) Canada, with the first order placed for 12 Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles. Each highly customized Titan Force ARFF vehicle carries 6,000 liters of water and a full complement of foam and dry chemical. The DND specifications include spacious cabs with seating for four, extruded aluminum constructed bodies with electric ladder racks, dual agent booster reels, 10-kw diesel generators, and winterization packages that allow the vehicles to operate in -40°F conditions. In honor of its 125th anniversary, GLOBE has partnered with Dupont and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) to donate 125 sets of gear in 2012 to deserving fire departments. Through this donation program, all-volunteer fire departments that serve a population of 25,000 or less and are in need of new gear can apply to receive up to 12 sets of Globe gear. Applications must be received by May 31, 2012, and awards will be announced monthly between July and December. IVY TECH COMMUNITY COLLEGE—Southwest students Angela Webb and Shannon Nowlan have been awarded the annual Joseph E. Rood, Jr. Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship, in honor of the late Joseph E. Rood, Jr. is awarded to students enrolled in the Paramedic Science program at Ivy Tech Community College. Each student will receive scholarship support for their spring tuition. A Navy veteran, Rood was best known for his pioneering efforts in patient care and paramedic science and, while working at Deaconess Hospital, he created a unique curriculum for teaching EMTs.
