2006 Haz-Mat Roundtable Report

Hazardous materials mitigation and control have come to the forefront in public safety planning since September 11, 2001. The need for national standards and practices, and proactive response, has never been stronger.

On April 3-4, 2006, the International Association of Fire Chiefs’ (IAFC) Hazardous Materials Committee convened a Hazardous Materials Team Leaders Roundtable with 40 of the nation’s leading authorities on hazardous materials response to review the current state of the hazardous materials response community and recommend future strategies. Funding for this roundtable is through a cooperative agreement between the USFA and the IAFC.
