The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has promoted Robert Solomon, P.E. to assistant vice president, building and life safety codes. He has served as the NFPA's chief building fire protection engineer since 1995 and will continue to manage the NFPA's building fire protection and life safety department and the technical development of related codes.

Two hours ago, my four colleagues from Chesterfield (VA) Fire and EMS and I left the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) in Indian-apolis; in 10 hours, we will be back in Chesterfield, Virginia.
