Following is a copy of the response made by Salvador J. Madama, former fire chief of the Laconia, NH, Fire Department to statements made in a court case relating to the Great Adventure fire (see "Horror in a Haunted Castle," FIRE ENGINEERING, August 1984).

APPARATUS DELIVERIES

The city of Paterson, NJ, recently took delivery of a Pierre Thibault apparatus mounted on a Spartan CFG-2,000 chassis, with 204-inch wheelbase, powered by a Detroit Diesel 6V-71T and Allison 4-speed automatic transmission model HT-740D. The unit has a Hale 1,250-gpm two-stage pump with power transfer valve, electric priming pump, and relief valve. There is a 300-gallon booster tank with 300 feet of 1-inch booster hose and two 200-foot skids each of 1 3/4-inch preconnected in Mattydale compartments.

EQUIPMENT DIGEST

The new Jobcom one-watt, high-bank, two-way radio can be used for communication between security personnel, emergency rooms and staff, and building-to-building operations. Features include screw-in (rubber duck) antenna, antenna jack for connecting external antenna, plug-in battery charger, and rechargeable Nicad battery.
