Los Angeles County (CA) Firefighter Dies in House Fire

The U.S. Fire Administration released its notice on the line-of-duty death of a firefighter with the Los Angeles County (CA) Fire Department.

On Thursday, January 6, 2022, Firefighter Jonathan “Jon” Flagler, 47, was at the scene of a residential fire in Rancho Palos Verdes. While operating the interior of the single-family home, Firefighter Flagler became trapped and was overcome by fire conditions. He was removed from the building and CPR was immediately performed. He was then transported to the hospital where he died a short time later.

Firefighter Flagler was a 21-year veteran of the fire service, having served 19 years with the Vernon (CA) Fire Department before transitioning to Los Angeles County in October 2020. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
