WI Firefighters Rescue Man Hanging from Second-Story Window at House Fire

According to a report from Post Crescent, Chilton (WI) Fire Department (CFD) firefighters rescued a man hanging from a second-story window of a house that was on fire Sunday night.

The CFD responded at 6:18 p.m. to a call about a house on fire at Court and Heiman Streets. On arrival, flames were shooting from the back of the home. CFD crews used a ladder to bring the man down safely.

CFD officials the resident was transported to and treated at Ascension Calumet Hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries. A firefighter also was treated at the hospital for smoke inhalation and has since been released.

The CFD has not yet determined an estimate of the damage and are still investigating the cause of the fire.
