Two Firefighters Injured in Fire at Indianapolis Auto Repair Shop

According to Indianapolis (IN) Fire Department Battalion Chief Rita Reith, the fire building was occupied by three employees of Taller Los Amigos, one of three businesses that lease space on the site, when the incident occurred. One of the employees told fire investigators that a car on the lift, being worked on, caught fire. The lift was fully extended. The employees tried unsuccessfully to extinguish the fire, then evacuated the building and called 911. No employees were injured.

Eighteen Indianapolis Fire Department units were dispatched along with one City of Lawrence unit. Crews employeed aerial operations as well as multiple handlines to contain the fire, and a wall collapse occurred during the fire.
