Two Dead, Five Injured in WI Senior Living Facility Fire



According to a report from ABC7, one man and woman were killed and five others were hospitalized, two with life-threatening injuries, after a fire erupted at an apartment complex for senior citizens in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Monday night.

Kenosha Fire Department (KFD) Chief Kenneth Schroeder said the fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. at the 16-unit Saxony Manor, located in the 1800 block of 22nd Avenue.

A Kenosha police officer suffered smoke inhalation attempting to rescue the more than dozen residents who fled, but is expected to recover.

Three of the people transported to the local hospital were stabilized, KFD officials said.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
