Two Children, Ages 2 and 3, Dead in NC House Fire

According to a report WSPA, two young children, ages 2 and 3, died in a house fire that erupted Friday morning just before 10 a.m. in Bostic, North Carolina.

Officials with the Forest City Fire Department said the fire erupted in the 100 block of Bostic Sunshine Highway.

The identities of the two children have yet to be released. The Rutherford County Fire Marshal said that the flames started in the living room. On the arrival of fire crews, the children were discovered alone in the home’s rear bedroom.

One neighbor said firefighters ran out of the house carrying the children, placed them on the ground, and began doing CPR and chest compressions, but to no avail.

The the Bostic Fire Department is now investigating the fire.
