Mayday, Three Firefighters Injured in Austin (TX) Fire

Three firefighters were injured Sunday morning in a condo fire in Austin, Texas.

KVUE reports that firefighters were attempting to rescue a reportedly trapped resident when a collapse occured, resulting in second-degree burns to three firefighters, Lt. Jeremy Burke; Willie Cook, and Jimmy Casares.

Alertpage reported that a Mayday was declared on the fireground for an injured member.

The fire resulted in damage to 14 units and left $2 million in damage to the Dry Creek West Condos.

One Austin police officer suffered from smoke inhalation. All four of the injured responders were taken to the hospital.
