THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE CHIEFS FOUNDATION awarded 25 scholarships for 1998. Lisa Garey (Richmond, VA) and Bill Lowe (Fayetteville, GA) each received the top honors and $3,000.

The following received $1,500 awards: Matthew Harnett (Woodbridge, VA); Brent Jenks (Enfield, CT); and Guy Keirn (St. Petersburg, FL).

The $1,000 award recipients were: Carl Thompson (Torrington, CT); Kristine Hrebik (Belen, NM); Christian Lengel (Pine Grove, PA); Jeffrey Pendelski (Worth, IL); Cliff Robinson (Cincinnati, OH); and Brian Griffin (Castle Rock, CO).

The following received $750 awards: Brian Ball (Decatur, IL); Michael Cameron (Vass, NC); Kelly Lawson (Media, PA); and Jonathan Scheirman (Monmouth, OR).

The $500 awardees were: Nate Vander Roest (Beltsville, MA); William Radcliff (Cincinnati, OH); William Hogsten (Orange, VA); Tracy Donohue (Algonquin, IL) and Explorer Scout Mark Jonovich (Chardon, OH).

The $250 award recipients were: Eric Clothier (North Hampton, NH); Mike Brock (Warren, OH); John Landers (Redding, CA); Jeffrey McKendree (Johnstown, PA); and Derryl O`Neal (Port Charlotte, FL).
