Fire photographer Andrew Deierlein shared some photos of a recent fire that ravaged a church undergoing restoration in Schroon Lake, New York.

The fire was initially reported around 3:15 p.m. on January 2, 2019. Upon arrival of the first-due engine, flames were blowing out the windows.

The first-due company placed a 2 1/2-inch blitzfire into operation on the B side of the building and used a 1 3/4-inch handline to protect the parsonage. Smoke was visible for miles away.

Fire departments from Schroon Lake, North Husdon, Pottersville, Horicon, Chestertown, Ticonderoga, Chilson, and Warrensburg were called to the scene. The majority of the fire had been knocked down around 4:45. Firefighters had to draft out of nearby Schroon Lake to help supply water for the wo master streams in operation.

The building dated back to the 1940s.
