On March 9, 2017, a dwelling fire was reported on E. 3rd Ave in Runnemede, New Jersey. First-arriving units reported heavy fire conditions from a single-family wood frame dwelling. Command struck the all hands box.

Crews secured a water supply and led off with a 1 ¾-inch handline to find heavy fire conditions. A backup line was stretched and placed in operation by the second-due engine.

Crews opened up from the exterior as command struck the emergency evacuation order for heavy fire conditions throughout the dwelling.

Crews placed a 2 ½” hand line in operation from the rear to knock down the bulk of the fire. Crews then re entered the dwelling to hit hot spots and open up. Searches were negative in the dwelling.

The fire brought under control with no injuries to firefighters. The fire is under investigation.
