Report: TX Fire Department Spending $21K a Day on Migrant Emergencies

Eagle Pass Texas Fire Department

The Eagle Pass (TX) Fire Department is spending thousands to deal with emergencies involving migrants at the border, according to news reports.

According to the New York Post, that amounts to more than $2.2M since the middle of September.

Eagle Pass Fire Chief Manuel Mello told reporters that fire department members are responding daily to the Rio Grande or U.S. Customs and Border Protection holding facilities to deal with migrant-related emergencies—and the town is absorbing the costs of those runs.
