Kussmaul Electronics Company, Inc.’s 09163-UV under voltage detector relay monitors DC voltage and operates a relay when the voltage drops below its set point. In response to requests from the EMS industry, SIMULAIDS, INC., has introduced Rescue Rudy, a life-sized manikin with African-American features, to its line of emergency training products. The foam-filled, articulated manikin is of cast-vinyl body construction and comes with weighed vests to vary the manikin’s weight. Four models, from 55 to 165 pounds, are available.

Task Force Tips’ Crossfire® portable/deck monitor flows up to 1,250 gpm in the portable mode with its Safe-tak valve, which reduces flow by up to 90 percent if the monitor starts to tip. The Defender fire helmet from Mine Safety Appliances (MSA) comes in two models—the Model G, which features a fiberglass outer shell, and the Mcxlel P, made of Ultem™ thermoplastic. Haz Mat Control Systems, Inc., has added new utility tools that automatically update employee training records to TR-Plus, its PC-based database management system designed for tracking and maintaining employee records. The new feature allows TR-Plus to automatically add training sessions for everyone in the department. In addition, when an employee changes job classifications, the utility updates all of the employee’s previous training records to reflect the change.

ALTERNATOR FOR AMBULANCE USE

MPI now offers the VITAL EMS 270, a highoutput, fast-recovery ambulance alternator that is the same size as a standard alternator but has a maximum output of 270 amps, exceeding the normal 165-amp output. The VITAL EMS 270 uses 24 diodes, is externally regulated, and exceeds the federal KKK-A1822C alternator output specifications for ambulances.
