Pennsylvania Firefighter Dies from Cardiac Arrest

A 26-year-old Pennsylvania volunteer firefighter died after suffering cardiac arrest, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

After her pager went off for a response call to a residential structure fire, Firefighter Christi  Rodgers became ill at her residence and according to media reports went into cardiac arrest. Firefighter Rodgers was then transported to the hospital where she passed away. The fire incident remains under investigation by local and state authorities.

Rodgers had served as a firefighter for 10 years. She served with the Robert Fulton Fire Company from Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania. A news report indicated she leaves behind a husband and a one-month-old child.
