Cops Blame Pennsylvania Man in Ambulance Crash

An Upper Darby (PA) man is facing charges after his snowblowing reportedly led to an ambulance crash during the epic blizzard that struck the East Coast.

Upper Darby police Superintendent Michael Chitwood told philly.com that, during the height of this weekend’s snowfall, an ambulance responding to a report of a man vomiting blood encountered Joseph Ross, 41, who was snowblowing all of the snow on his property into the middle of the road.

Police said Ross persisted in his work in the presence of the ambulance, spraying snow right onto the windshield of the vehicle. The driver was reportedly blinded and crashed into a snowbank, and one medic had to scramble out of the driver’s side.

Following the crash, both paramedics in the ambulance rushed to the man in need of medical care, the report said. To deal with the disabled ambulance the police, the fire department, a salt truck, a plow truck, and a tow truck were called to the scene, Chitwood said.
