One Person Killed in FL Grocery Store Fire

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews found a person dead inside a grocery store in Dover after responding to a fire Sunday afternoon.

The department’s dispatchers received calls about 5 p.m. reporting fire and smoke at Dover Mexican Market at 3223 Sydney Dover Road. Crews arrived to find the building fully engulfed in flames, according to a news release from the agency.

Firefighters began a defensive attack, battling the blaze from outside the structure. Once they could safely enter, firefighters found the body of someone who had died in the blaze.

No firefighters were injured and fire investigators were on the scene Sunday evening.
