One Dead, Firefighter Suffers Burns at IN House Fire

According to a report from CBS Chicago, one person died and a firefighter was hospitalized with a burn injury after falling through a floor at a Hammond, Indiana, house fire early Tuesday morning. 

The Hammond Fire Department (HFD) discovered the deceased victim on arrival to the home in the 7200 block of Lindberg Avenue at about 4 a.m.

The injured firefighter was pulled from the living room and is now being treated for leg burns at Munster Community Hospital.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
