The U.S. Fire Administration issued a notification about a firefighter with the Jefferson Township (OH) Fire Department who was found dead while on duty at the fire station.
On Tuesday, December 28, 2021, Firefighter/EMT Thomas Joseph Rees, 38, did not wake for an emergency. Minutes before roll call, when another firefighter checked on Rees he was discovered deceased in his bunk. An autopsy reported that Rees had a major coronary event.
According to a news report, Firefighter/EMT Rees leaves behind a wife and four children.
