INNOTEX® Introduces New GRAY™ Hood 25 Nano

When firefighters valiantly step into the blaze, they are not only combating flames but also invisible enemies: microscopic carcinogenic particles.

These toxins, generated by burning materials, can be inhaled and also absorbed through the skin – especially in sensitive areas like the neck, jaw, and throat.

As the body heats up and pores open, the skin’s absorption capacity soars, making the protective role of the hood even more crucial. Alarmingly, for every 5-degree increase in skin temperature, contamination risk surges by a staggering 400%.

To shield firefighters from the toxic microscopic particulates that can easily travel through traditional knitted hoods, INNOTEX, a developer and manufacturer of personal protective equipment for firefighters and first responders, has introduced INNOTEX® GRAY™ Hood 25 Nano – NOT MADE WITH PFAS.

A new hood offering complete coverage protection against toxic particles.

INNOTEX® GRAY™ Hood 25 Nano – NOT MADE WITH PFAS is a light & flexible 1-layer trilaminate hood made with DuPont™ Nomex® Nano Flex. It features a nanofiber-based particulate barrier that stops particulates at 99.8% as small as 0.1 microns, all with remarkable breathability & high thermal heat loss value to keep firefighters at maximum comfort in any situation.

The hood’s ergonomic and air-permeable design includes an asymmetric length of 24″ at the front and 22″ at the back to guarantee chest and shoulder coverage. This is paired with a head

contour design for an optimal seal with SCBA masks. A heavy-duty ½” elastic in the face opening provides a perfect fit, stretching for comfortable wear without loss of shape. Comfort is further enhanced with strong, yet low-profile flatlock seams sewn with spun Nomex thread.

Best of all, the hood maintains its 99.8% particulate-blocking efficiency, even after 250 washes – even at the seams.

The INNOTEX® GRAY™ Hood 25 Nano – NOT MADE WITH PFAS is OEKO-TEX® & NFPA

1971-2018 certified, making it a smart and vital investment in firefighters’ continued health and safety.
