NFAAA Scholarship Program

The National Fire Academy Alumni Association (NFAAA) is proud to announce its first Scholarship Program. The program is open to volunteers in need of a meal ticket to attend either a VIP or a two-week residential course at the National Fire Academy (NFA). Application materials are available on the NFAAA Web site (www.nfaalumni.org).

To apply for this academy school year for either semester, fill out the application (Downloadable PDF) and mail it before April 1, 2002, to Chief Ron Kanterman, P.O. Box 2000, Rahway, NJ 07065 (e-mail: ronald_kanterman@merck.com). Winners will be announced at the FDIC in April in Indianapolis at the NFAAA Annual Meeting. Winners also will be notified by mail or e-mail and listed on the NFAAA Web site. You need not be present at the FDIC to be awarded a scholarship.

Criteria: You must be a first-time National Fire Academy attendee and demonstrate a need for the scholarship. Each board member has money allotted for two VIP scholarships of $100 each or one two-week residential scholarship of $200. This money will cover the cost of meals for the time period spent at the NFA. You must successfully complete the course, after which the NFAAA will disburse the funds.
