New Free Initial Scene Size-Up Program Available

The Firefighters Support Foundation’s (FSF) newest free training program, Initial Scene Size-up, is now available. The program defines initial scene size-up and when it should occur. It explains the components of a good size-up and explains the notification and communication process involved.  Several examples are offered and walked-through, and a question-and-answer session wraps up the program.

This program consists of a 45-minute video program and an accompanying PowerPoint program. Firefighters and EMTs can view the video material with the PowerPoint file acting as their hard copy notes, or they can use either resource independently.

The presenter is former Chief Michael Finney, the CEO of the Open Fire Academy, adjunct faculty for the National Fire Service, a faculty member at four universities, and the author of several books for the fire service.

The PowerPoint and video portions of the program can be used by any agency or member either as-is, or as a basis from which to construct training modules or presentations of their own.

Download the video HERE and the PowerPoint HERE, or simply view the video in the player below.
