Molly’s Trip to New York City

Hi, boys and girls!

Welcome to Molly’s Kids Zone on Firelife.com!

My name is Molly, and I am a real fire dog. I love teaching fire safety to children.

One of the things I like about being a fire dog and mascot is being able to travel the United States sharing fire safety with boys and girls just like you!

TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY

I had the BEST time traveling to New York City!

Each year, I travel more than 25,000 miles in the SpotMobile sharing fire safety with children and their families.

The SpotMobile got a brand new wrap for the trip. How do you like it?

In September, I went to New York City to be Anthony Rubio’s special guest at his New York Fashion Week (NYFW) Women’s Wear and Pet Couture show. It was my very first time to go to NYFW and I was so excited!

It was my very first time to go to New York Fashion Week! I was so excited to be Anthony Rubio’s guest at his Women’s Wear and Pet Couture fashion show!

The highlight of Anthony’s fashion show was seeing all his beautiful designs, canine and human models!

I also had fun doing an interview for Fashion News Live!

On September 11th, I went to a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony in Secaucus, New Jersey.

It was a very moving ceremony and many people from the town were there.

That evening, I went to see the “Tower of Lights.” Each year on September 11th, the 9/11 Memorial shines two beams of light.

While I was there, I saw some New York firefighters and firetrucks.

Also while at the 9/11 Memorial, I helped place a rose on the memorial.

NATIONAL HERITAGE FIRE CENTER AND THE FREDERICK COUNTY FIRE MUSEUM

On my trip, I had a great time visiting the Frederick County Fire Museum, National Heritage Fire Center, Sparkles’ Memorial Walkway on the Fallen Firefighter Foundation’s Walk of Honor and Emmitsburg Hose Company, all based in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Here’s a video we took at the National Heritage Fire Museum and Frederick County Fire Center. Special thanks to Frank Schmersal, Archivist, for the tour!

On my trip, I traveled more than 3,000 miles!

FIRE SAFETY TIP: WHEN TO CHANGE SMOKE ALARM BATTERIES

Make sure grown-ups in your house change the batteries in smoke alarms once a year.

People with disabilities and older adults: Ask family or friends to help install smoke alarms, test them monthly, and change batteries each year.
