According to a report from WBOC, a fire that was sparked in an abandoned home in Crisfield, Maryland, early Wednesday morning was ruled an arson, making it the fifth intentionally-set fire in Somerset County in the past two months.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal said the fire struck the two-story home at 201 N. Third Street at around 2:30 a.m. after being called in by a neighbor. The fire caused approximately $95,000 in damages, although no injuries were reported.
Thirty firefighters from the Crisfield Volunteer Fire Company (CVFC) took about 90 minutes to control the flames.

The first fire in the suspected string occurred on September 11 at a one-story home on Rehoboth Road in Westover. Two days later, a pick up truck was set on fire at a home on Old State Road in Crisfield. Then, on October 2, another truck was set on fire at the same home.
The fourth fire happened on October 9 at a house on West Main Street, also in Crisfield. Officials have not yet confirmed if these fires are connected.
