Maryland Reduces Fire Insurance Rates
The Insurance Commissioner of Maryland recently announced his approval of a 25 per cent reduction in fire insurance rates for homeowners, filed by the Maryland Fire Underwriters Rating Bureau. In addition, rates on household possessions have been reduced 5 per cent. Rates on mercantile buildings have been increased 5 per cent and on mercantile stocks 20 per cent. Many other occupancies received rate reductions of 15 to 30 per cent.
