80 Breath Analyzer Kit—A data sheet describing the MiniCO breath analyzer kit for estimating concentrations of carbon monoxide in the blood is available from Mine Safety Appliances Company. The MiniCO estimates carboxyhemoglobin levels by measuring the concentration of CO in breath (alveolar air). Contained in each kit is a MiniCO carbon monoxide indicator. Model III; a breath kit; and a calibration check kit. The breath kit includes a sampling adaptor, a package of three balloons for collecting breath samples, a package of five mouthpiece tubes, a pinch clamp, and a carboxyhemoglobin/alveolar air correlation chart.

82 Emergency Escape—A descriptive flyer on the B-K emergency escape personal safety harness for use in fire emergencies has been issued by B-K Products, Inc. Testing data and other useful technical information is accompanied by illustrations of product usage and installation.

83 Uniforms—The 1979-1980 Some’s uniform guide featuring a large selection of stock and customized uniforms for municipal and county departments has just been released. The 216-page catalog complements the garments with a wide selection of decorative and utilitarian accessories as well as custom emblems and metal and fabric uniform insignia.

84 Industrial Fire Hose—A new catalog of industrial fire hose has been published by National Fire Hose Corporation. Among the products listed in Rack ‘N Reel 500, a lined, 100 percent synthetic hose for pin rack or reel storage. New Hypalon-impregnated and Neoprene-covered hoses are offered for fire protection in the petrochemical industry and other heavy industry. The complete National listing includes hose manufactured from a full range of natural and man-made materials. Hose sizes and const ructions are offered for general industrial applications, as well as for specific industries.

85 CPR/MMR Manikins—Three new CPR/MMR manikins produced by Simulaids are fully described and illustrated in a fullcolor data sheet. The new manikins, called Cathy and Bonnie, are newborn infant girls and come in both Black and White models. The top of the line of these 20-inch models has a rectal access for taking temperature and an internal lung which inflates when MMR is administered. A chest rise is clearly discernible when the lung is inflated. The 6pound, 4-ounce manikins are made with palable rib cages and anatomically correct heads. The basic model has all of these features with the exception of the rectal access. The simplest version has neither the internal lung nor the rectal access.

86 Elevating Platform—An eight-page brochure from Calavar describes the Firebird 125 and 150. Included in the brochure are reasons for choosing the unit, drawings showing the operation of the telescopic col umn and the boom, and platform and boom options.

87 Respiratory Air Systems—An eightpage brochure from Pressure Systems, Inc., describes the Eagle Air Systems. Included in the brochure are a compressor selection guide, a description of the purification system and the purification process, selecting the purification system, and descriptions of the storage system and the filling station.

88 Pumpers—A four-page brochure from PA.J Industries Inc., describes the Plain Jane pumper. The unit has a 750 or 1000-gpm front-mounted pump on a Class A pumper and a 750-gallon booster tank. The Plain Jane has a minimum of chrome, gadgets, a low price tag and a short delivery time. The truck is built on an assembly line with no structural or design deviations allowed.

89 Heathkit—A 104-page catalog describing the latest in electronic kits is now available from Heath Company. Product categories in the fall catalog include amateur radio, color television, stereo components, test instruments, digital clocks, personal computer systems, auto, marine and aircraft accessories, plus a selection of self-instruction programs in electronics related subjects.

90 Emergency Lights/Sound Systems—A four-color catalog and literature are available on Unity Manufacturing Company’s complete line of advanced lighting and sound system products for emergency vehicles. In addition to its Unibeacon rotating beacons, flashing and warning lights, with Uniracks, Unity’s automotive lighting line includes spotlights, fog lights, roof and deck lights, and other auxiliary driving lights. Also available is the Si-Tron electronic siren/public address amplifier with a choice of rotary switch or push-button controls.

91 Signs—Seton Name Plate Corp. has issued a 56-page catalog, No. 80-S, offering more than 194 identification products. Each product is illustrated in full color with complete specifications, pricing and order forms.

92 Fire Protection Systems—A full-color brochure highlighting its total fire protection capabilities has been issued by the Kidde Belleville Division of Walter Kidde & Company, Inc. The brochure describes how the company supplies the full spectrum of modern fire fighting agents including Halon 1301, carbon dioxide, high and low expansion foam and dry chemicals. Examples of the various systems in installations in this country and abroad are illustrated. Included are liquefied natural gas projects, systems for oil pipelines, and a variety of other energy-related fire detection and protection applications.

93 Protection Systems for Off-Road Vehicles—A fire protection manual directed to owners and operators of off-road vehicles is available from the Ansul Company. The manual makes extensive use of drawings and pictures to show how vehicles can be protected from fire and shows the Ansul fire suppression systems which will operate either manually or automatically.
