80 Alternators—A four-page brochure featuring its new standardized 8050A series heavy-duty alternators is available from the Leece-Neville Division of Sheller-Globe Corporation. The well-illustrated publication contains specifications on the six-unit line, as well as new and replacement installation information. Included is an interchange list that provides the original alternator number and its suggested 8050A series replacement. The brochure also provides dimensions, outlines, typical wiring diagrams, regulator and relay requirement data, performance curves, and a parts breakdown of mounting kit 99648 for new installations.
81 Smoke Detector Protectors—A two-page data sheet describing the Protec-A-Brac is available from Chase Security Systems, Inc. The unit is designed to protect smoke detectors from theft, damage and vandalism, yet allow maintenance to alarms in seconds, with individual key locking system. It can be mounted anywhere a smoke detector is placed and fits most models of detectors.
82 Medical Cases—A two-color brochure from Knickerbocker Case Company describes the company’s line of Medic-Cases. Included are the standard tray and economy series, the special combination case K-90 and the new high-impact ABS plastic cases. A price list is also available.
83 Hydrant Accessories—Two brochures from Hydra-Shield Manufacturing Company describe the Hydra-Lock and the HydraShield cap. The Hydra-Lok is an adapter ring which permanently replaces all old hydrant caps. The hose is connected and the clamps locked. No wrenches are needed. The Hydra-Shield cap is tamperproof, requiring an accompanying wrench to remove. It is custom manufactured to fit a particular system.
84 Safety Products—Direct Safety Company has issued a full-line catalog of safety and maintenance products. The full-color catalog has 100 pages featuring several new or expanded product lines. One is a new series of Lifesaver hazard alarm communicators which alert to fire and other emergency situations. Another featured line covers wheelchair-stretchers and other emergency equipment, as well as expanded selections of first aid packages, medi-belts, fire extinguishers, respirators and gas masks.
85 Respiratory Protection—Scott Aviation has issued a two-page data sheet on the Air-Pak IIa, which has received certification under the latest NIOSH requirements. The Air-Pak IIa incorporates two innovations inside the regulator. First, there is a new outlet probe and second, a new diaphragm. Together these two components join in reducing the risk of accidental overpressurization.
86 Suspended Maneuvering System—A product specification sheet on the suspended maneuvering system is available from McDonnell Douglas Corporation. The SMS is a self-contained module transported to and from the scene where needed by helicopter. Suspended by a long cable, it can maneuver independently of the helicopter horizontally in any direction by means of an advanced thrust and attitude control system, controlled by an on-board operator.
87 Nozzles—A four-page brochure from Ekhart Brass describes new fire fighting equipment available from the company. Illustrated are playpipes, Navy nozzles, the SM-20F automatic nozzles and the Giant Python.
88 Life Support Equipment—A one-page data sheet from Robertshaw Controls Company describes the life support products available. Described and illustrated are the air capsule, supplied air respirators, the RAM-5 and RAM-15 combination self-contained air supply/supplied air respirators, the demand valve for cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. portable resuscitators, handcart resuscitators, and the bag mask resuscitator.
89 Fire-Smoke Simulators A one-page data sheet describing its fire-smoke simulator is available from American Animation Inc. The simulator can he used with any standard overhead projector. Smoke and fire movement is obtained when the projector’s light passes through specifically selected polarized materials and the simulator’s polarizing spinner. 35mm slides are simultaneously projected on the same screen. It comes in a complete training package which includes the fire-smoke display frame, a motorized polarizing spinner, motion sheet, color sheets, sand level, a brush, fine aggregate and marking pencil.
