80 Safety Belt—Wydra Manufacturing Co. has a two-page data sheet on the Wydra Safety belt which allows fire fighters to work safely on a roof and still have freedom of movement. Other uses for the belt are for ladder pipe operation and as a rear step belt. A specification sheet is also available.
81 Water Flow Test Kit—A single-page data sheet from Firecraft Division of Western Fire Equipment Co. describes the water flow test kit, which is designed for testing new engines for acceptance, and for routine pumper and hydrant flow tests.
82 Custom Pumpers—A four-color, sixpage brochure highlighting the features and capabilities of FMC’s Fire Apparatus Operation. The brochure centers on the design of the custom pumpers and the cab selections available. Also covered are the functional equipment and standard features found on the pumpers.
83 Portable Communications Equipment—A guide to Motorola’s line of portable communications equipment and accessories is offered by Motorola Communications and Electronics, Inc. Major portable systems described include Motorola’s MX 300, MT 500 and HT 220 series Handie Talkie radios. Also included are specialized portable communications systems such as the vehicular repeater systems for increased area coverage, the coronary observation radios, which are designed to bring increased medical attention to the side of the pat ient. The brochure also outlines personal portable FM radio maintenance programs offered by Motorola and lists accessories such as batteries, antennas, chargers, carrying cases remote operation devices and mobile operation accessories.
84 Demodulator—Psychological Training Company has issued a data sheet on its demodulator, a small portable instrument that permits presentation of any cardiac arrhythmia on any scope. The device is used with a cassette player, any monitor scope and a wide variety of prerecorded arrhymia cassettes. It was designed for use in the advanced cardiac life support course organized by the American Heart Association. The release also lists 31 arrhythmia cassettes including four pairs of practice and test programs for the advanced cardiac life support course.
85 Pumpers—A six-page, full-color brochure describing the construction and specifications of Grumnan’s line of Firecat pumpers is available. The pumpers are designed in three model series: F7 with a 750-gpm pump, the F10 with a 1000-gpm pump and the F12 with a 1250-gpm pump. Features common to all Firecats are detailed in the brochure and many illustrations are included. A schematic compartment configurations clarifies the many optional arrangements.
86 Training Materials—The Robert J. Brady Company has issued a 30-page catalog on its training materials. Included is a complete list of textbooks, transparencies and 35MM slides available from the company. The subjects covered are fire fighter training, rescue, and emergency medical services. Audiovisual equipment available from the company is also included.
87 Flammable Liquids Safety Handbook—A 32-page edition of Justrite’s handbook, “How to Handle Flammable Liquids Safely,” presents an overall look at the hazardous nature of flammable liquids and the procedures and equipment needed to minimize the hazards. Major subjects discussed include drum storage and dispensing, inplant storage and transfer, production line safety with flammable liquids and waste solvent disposal. Safety checklists for most applications are included as are a substantial technical section, abstracts from OSHA standards, a table of fire hazard properties and a glossary.
88 Light Sticks—American Cyanamid Company has available a full-color brochure which presents applications of Cyalume lightsticks in fire Fighting situations. The four-page brochure explains the advantages of the lightstick emergency safety light system and includes several photographs taken at the Ford Training Center in Troy, Mich., with the cooperation of the Troy Fire Department. The brochure shows the lightsticks being used as a source of safe working light, as personnel markers in dark, smokefilled areas, and as signal lights for communications without walkie-talkies.
