A man was sentenced to two years of probation for lying to a grand jury during the investigation of a 2012 warehouse fire that killed two Philadelphia firefighters.
The Philadelphia Inquirer (http://bit.ly/1mRVTlv) reports that Richard Knellinger, 42, the only person charged in connection with the deadly fire, was sentenced Monday after reaching a plea deal. Knellinger testified before the grand jury and denied speaking with the property owners, Nahman and Michael Lichtenstein, and another man, as well as denied being present at the fire scene.
Lt. Robert Neary and Firefighter Daniel Sweeney were killed in April 2012 fire that injured two others. The cause of the fire was never determined.
