Man Dies in Webster (MA) House Fire

A man was killed in a house fire in Webster Saturday night, according to the Telegram & Gazette.

Firefighters were called to the home at 1 South Point Road shortly after 10 p.m., the Webster Fire Department wrote on social media. The two-alarm fire happened at a multi-family residence that overlooks Webster Lake, the Telegram & Gazette reported.

Firefighters found the man trapped in the home, the newspaper reported. They got him out and took him to a hospital, but he died there.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire after rescuing the man, the Telegram & Gazette reported. No one else was injured in the fire.

Six people lived in the home, and five were home when the fire began, the newspaper reported. They have all been displaced.

Webster firefighters are still investigating the fire, the Telegram and Gazette reported. No further information about the fire — including the man’s identity — has been released.
