Life Scan Wellness Centers Partners with UCF RESTORES

Life Scan Wellness

Life Scan Wellness Centers (LSWC), a leading provider of comprehensively enhanced early detection first responder physicals for the past 25 years, has partnered with UCF RESTORES, a leading provider of first responder behavioral health support. Through this partnership, UCF RESTORES’ first responder peer support resource apps – Redline RescueTM for firefighters and Blueline RescueTM for law enforcement personnel – will be leveraged to enhance the options available to the thousands of first responders screened for behavioral wellness by Life Scan Wellness Centers annually.

Since its launch in 2021, the Redline Rescue app has been used by thousands of firefighters to help reduce stress and anxiety, improve mental health, and increase resilience. Blueline Rescue – Redline Rescue’s sister app, developed specifically for law enforcement – was launched earlier this year. Both portals connect their respective service groups to a network of empathic, trained peer supporters, as well as licensed mental health providers available in the local area.

“Expanding our mental health resources, through partnerships with well respected experts such as UCF RESTORES and Florida Health and Safety Collaborative, will afford Life Scan Wellness Centers first responders and agencies access to critical links in the chain of behavioral wellness resources,” said Patricia Johnson, Founder & CEO.

“As a first responder for 37 years, and retired fire chief, I’m certain this partnership will save lives of first responders who have been detected early needing clinical assistance with their mental health. We lose far too many of my brother and sister responders every year from suicide and intervening early with screening and capable resources will be a life saver”, said Deputy CEO Chief Todd LeDuc, also a member of the International Association of Fire Chief Safety, Health & Survival Board member and NFPA 1582 technical committee member on First Responder Occupational Health as well as Chairperson of the First Responder Center of Excellence Advisory Board.

“We are pleased to partner with Life Scan Wellness Centers – an industry leader in first responder early detection – to expand access to evidence-based behavioral health resources within the first responder community. By combining resources, we’re opening up access to trained peer supporters and culturally competent clinicians for first responders in need,” said Deborah C. Beidel, Ph.D., ABPP, Executive Director of UCF RESTORES, joined by Dustin Hawkins, Redline Rescue Subject-Matter Expert, and Indian River County Fire Rescue Lieutenant & Chaplain.
