On June 19, Indianapolis (IN) firefighters quickly controlled a fire in a residence that contained no working smoke detectors. No injuries were reported on scene.
Firefighters were dispatched at midnight to a fire in a wood-frame dwelling at 1817 Dexter Street. They found fire showing upon arrival and commenced an offensive attack using two 1 3/4-inch handlines.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to find fire showing from the basement window. Firefighters also found the fire had extended within the walls to the first level. The fire was contained to the basement and walls on the first level but also caused damage to the exterior siding.
The fire was under control in 32 minutes.
