Hale Products Announces Class 1 WiFi Module

Ocala, FLHale Products, Inc. has introduced a first-in-the-market Class 1 WiFi Module, an exciting edition to the ES-KeyTM product line. The new module allows several methods of communication with an emergency vehicle’s electrical system via local or internet wireless, USB or Ethernet connectivity.

“The multiple connectivity opportunities offered by the WiFi Module save valuable time when the need to connect arises,” said David Guynn, business line director for vehicle electronics. “Not only can you receive all of the electrical system’s data and chassis- related CAN messages, you can send CAN messages to the vehicle as well.”

For OEMs, Dinning said, the module’s wireless connectivity options give engineers the ability to remotely program multiple apparatus.

For firefighters, the product allows for real-time access to critical system information for faster troubleshooting of potential electrical failures, without ever seeing the vehicle.

The dimensions of the WiFi Module are 1.4 inches high, 4.68 inches wide and 5.24 inches long. Additional product features include:

•    Chassis CAN Bus Connection: Allows you to see chassis information coming from the J1939 CAN bus, gives you the ability to perform remote diagnostics and lets you send CAN messages which, in some cases, can be used to correct an issue

•    Easily Retrofits to Existing ES-Key Systems: Allows you to put WiFi Modules on all of your ES-Key systems fleet-wide

•    Four Configurable Home Networks: Supports current Wi-Fi security protocols including WPA2-PSK and allows you the flexibility to communicate with the vehicle from multiple networks

•    USB and Ethernet: Allows you to take advantage of the module’s features, even when a Wi-Fi network is not available
