FL Firefighter ‘Relieved of Duty’ After Video Surfaces of Hospital Assault

According to a report from LOCAL10, a member of Miami (FL) Fire Rescue (MFR) who was identified on video assaulting a handcuffed patient at Jackson Memorial Hospital in October has been ‘relieved of duty.’

In the video, you can see the assault victim entering the hospital in a wheel chair, talking to an officer before becoming aggressive.

That’s when the MFR member punches him at least three times as other officials attempt to restrain him.

The identity of the firefighter or the assault victim has not been identified.

In a statement, MFR officials said: “When this incident occurred, the individual was immediately Relieved of Duty. Our department is conducting an administrative investigation while this individual remains in a Relieved of Duty status.”
