Two Firefighters Injured While Battling Fort Worth (TX) Scrapyard Fire

Fort Worth firefighters took 14 hours to extinguish a large fire at a metal facility Friday afternoon in north Fort Worth. Large plumes of smoke could be seen coming from a burning pile of debris.

Two firefighters were injured while battling the fire but are expected to make a full recovery, the fire department said Saturday in a post on X. The post said firefighters responded around 2:15 p.m. Friday and finally put out the fire at about 4:15 a.m. Saturday.

Crews are working the fire at Texas Industrial Metal, fire department said about 3:30 p.m. in a social media post. An online call log showed more than a dozen units responding. The post said over 175 firefighters responded to the scene with 41 fire trucks.

Officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
