The Floral Park (NY) Fire Department was joined by mutual aid companies from throughout Nassau County in battling a stubborn fire in a mixed occupancy on Jericho Turnpike on Monday, April 18, 2023. FirstOnScenePhotos shared some images from the fireground.
The first calls came in around 10:35 a.m. for smoke from the two-story building with businesses on the ground floor and apartments above.
An interior attack was initiated by firefighters, but they were pushed back by heavy smoke and high heat.
Master streams were eventually put into place to extinguish the fire.
