More than a half-dozen storage units were damaged after catching fire on Sunday in East Windsor where crews spent several hours overhauling.
Fire crews at 2:41 p.m. were dispatched to a storage unit facility on a report of smoke coming from one of the units, according to the Broad Brook and Warehouse Point Fire Departments.

About six to eight units were consumed by heavy fire when crews arrived, fire officials said. Firefighters immediately began forcing their way into the units to put out the flames.
According to fire officials, the bulk of the fire was knocked down quickly. The entire fire was brought under control within an hour.
Crews then had to perform extensive overhaul efforts because of the contents of the units, officials said.
At one point firefighters had to halt their operations and seek shelter when storms rolled through the area and brought heavy rain and lightning, according to fire officials. Crews in total spent about five hours at the scene.
One minor injury was reported and was treated at the scene, officials said.
Firefighters from the Windsor Locks Fire Department and Enfield Fire District 1 provided mutual aid at the scene.
Crews from the Hazardville Fire District, South Windsor Fire Department and the Ellington Volunteer Fire Department provided station coverage as crews were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Warehouse Point Fire Marshal Office.
