Firefighters responded Monday to a fire in a large wood frame dwelling in Cicero, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Fire photographer Steve Redick shared some images from the incident.

Redick noted that crews had to deal with extreme cold conditions as well as falling snow. He wrote that arriving companies found a good volume of fire on the second floor of the dwelling. Apparently this building had been remodeled several times over the years, making for very difficult firefighting conditions as the fire had spread to concealed spaces and voids. Redick arrived just as they were attempting to complete vertical ventilation as the fire rapidly advanced in the attic space.
